New Baptist Health App Helps Navigate Pregnancy, Parenting & Beyond

Thanks to the new MyFamily app, the health and development of yourself and your growing family is one thing you can easily stay on top of.

Parenthood can be one of the most overwhelming jobs on the planet — not only do you have to take care of yourself and tend to your own needs on a regular basis, but you have tiny humans to keep healthy and happy, too. With those responsibilities come a slew of questions, stressors, and neverending to-do lists.

Thanks to the new MyFamily app, the health and development of yourself and your growing family is one thing you can easily stay on top of. Available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the MyFamily app comes courtesy of Baptist Health and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, in conjunction with mobile health software company Wildflower Health, and is on hand to help guide parents and families through pregnancy and beyond. Easily track and maintain health information for all family members and access trusted, up-to-date content and local resources for all ages and stages of life — based on the latest medical guidelines and provider recommendations.

“We are so proud to offer the MyFamily app so we can continue to provide support long after childbirth,” CC Brooks, vice president of Patient Care Services for Baptist Medical Center Jacksonville and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, shared with BaptistJax.com. “As a mom and a former labor and delivery nurse, I know how important it is for parents to have access to the reliable information they need as their families grow and needs change. This new app helps by offering health trackers for kids as they mature and the ability to include a health profile for every family member.”

Pregnancy & Infant Features

So many emotions and questions are sure to arise the minute you see that positive pregnancy test. The app makes it simple to navigate the complex world of pregnancy, providing reminders to take those important prenatal vitamins, stay hydrated, get proper nutrition, and attend regular doctor appointments. Additional pregnancy features on the app include:

  • Due date calculator
  • Week-by-week updates
  • Weight gain calculator
  • Pregnancy milestones
  • Symptom checker
  • Schedule for maternity classes offered at Baptist Health
  • Personalized pregnancy action steps
  • Baby Boost relaxatoin tool
  • Baby kick counter
  • “Q-List” to help keep track of questions, concerns, and communication with your doctor

While nothing can fully prepare you for the arrival of your precious bundle of joy, you can at least feel rest assured that you can track and keep the health of your baby (and your own postpartum health) well-organized and easily accessible. With an emphasis on early childhood development and parental health, features for new parents and infants include:

  • Clinical topics for newborns and young children from birth to 2 years old, such as language development, sleep, dental care, vaccinations, and nutrition
  • Tracking developmental milestones and management of well-child checkups
  • Tips and resources for new parents including postpartum depression, swaddling, infant care, feeding, and more
  • New parent tracking tools for bottle feeding and/or breastfeeding, diapers, and growth

Overall Family Health

In addition to pregnancy and parenting, the MyFamily app provides access to information and resources beneficial to all members of your family including your spouse, elderly parents, and your own health and wellness. These health features include:

  • Trackers for many aspects of your health and well-being such as vaccinations, height, and weight that seamlessly sync up with the Apple Health app
  • Individual and customizable profiles for each member of your family alongside milestones and health information for every age and stage of life
  • Personalized daily highlights, affirmations, and seasonal health tips
  • Easy-to-access resources and contact information for members of your health team

Brooks also recently shared with River City Live that users will be relieved to know that the information shared throughout the app is reliable and has been thoroughly vetted and reviewed.

“[The app is] open to the public, and the information has been reviewed by our clinical team,” she said. “There’s so much information out there that’s false, so this is a great way to make sure you’re getting good information.”

MyFamily by Baptist Health can be downloaded on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
